In orthodontics, patients are treated by moving teeth to improve esthetics and occlusion. Tooth displacement is one of the most important outcomes, and can be used to evaluate treatment strategies and orthodontic appliances. Thus, an accurate and reliable method for quantification of the three dimensional (3D) tooth displacements is of high interest .
