4. Kinematics Analysis of Vibration-Assisted Machining

Tool–workpiece separation (TWS) is recognized as one of the main reasons for the benefits of vibration-assisted machining (VAM). To accelerate the progress of the application of VAM in industrial production, it is essential to systematically study the kinematics of VAM. On this basis, the underlying mechanism of each type of TWS involved in VAM and the required conditions could be determined. This would contribute to the establishment of the technological principles for the optimization of the machining parameters in VAM, thereby achieving the targeted machining quality.
